TECHNOLOGY · METALLIC BONDED

Real metal.
Cast into texture.

Metallic Bonded surfaces integrate metal granules into a fibre-reinforced polymer matrix, with the pattern itself formed through casting rather than printed onto the finished sheet.

MATERIAL CONSTRUCTION

Material, matrix and pattern work as one system.

The visible character comes from the material itself. Metal granules are integrated into the composite construction, while the mould establishes the three-dimensional pattern and relief.

01 · METAL

Metal granules

The metallic constituent provides the authentic visual presence, tonal variation and material character of the surface.

02 · MATRIX

Fibre-reinforced polymer

The matrix binds the material into an architectural sheet system and supports the formed surface geometry.

03 · PATTERN

Cast-in texture

Pattern is established through the mould and casting process, creating relief, shadow and tactile depth.

04 · FINISH

Colour & patina

Finishing develops the final visual character, including available colour and patina expressions within the Metallic Bonded range.

HOW IT IS MADE

Pattern is not decoration. It is part of the making process.

01

Pattern development

A repeat, texture or bespoke design is developed to express the intended architectural language.

02

Mould development

The mould becomes the physical design tool that establishes relief, repeat and surface geometry.

03

Metallic casting

Metal granules and the composite system are cast through the developed mould to form the sheet.

04

Finishing & inspection

Finishing, visual inspection and preparation complete the surface for architectural use.

SPECIFIER VIEW

Specify the surface as a material system.

Configuration, thickness, sheet size, pattern, finish, substrate and installation method should be confirmed for the intended application.

INSTALLATION

Assembly matters

Bonded surfaces are non-structural finish materials; the supporting substrate and installation system must be confirmed for the project.
